About Susan:
Susan L. Rose served as General Manager of the Fremont Symphony Orchestra from August 2008 to July 2012. Before taking the helm of the orchestra, Ms. Rose was a Fremont Symphony Board member, active volunteer and strong advocate for the orchestra and arts in the schools. Ms. Rose has served as President of the Board of Directors, Secretary, and Treasurer and was a Board Member for many seasons. She was also on the Guild Board of Directors for many years and served three terms as President. As a volunteer leader, she produced concerts, supervised office staff, served as hands-on budget manager, coordinated marketing activities, managed Board agendas, led Annual Fund Campaigns, coordinated all sizes of successful fundraisers, and has been the face of the Fremont Symphony in the community.
Previously, Ms. Rose was appointed to the Alameda County Art Commission and served for eight years, chairing the Commission for two years. She was the first chair of the Public Art Advisory Committee, which was established by the County’s Public Art Ordinance. During 12 years as a Committee member, Ms. Rose reviewed County capital improvement projects to ensure that 2% of construction budgets were dedicated for public art and selected art installations for each project.
Ms. Rose graduated with a BA degree in French from Lawrence University, Wisconsin. She maintains memberships in the Association of California Symphony Orchestras and the Olive Hyde Art Guild in Fremont. Piano lessons and acting experiences at a young age were the beginning of her lifelong involvement with classical music and the arts.
We look forward to see you on the 24th
